Is anyone else loving this headband/hair accessories trend right now? I’m totally obsessed with it. I’ve been buying hair clips as if I were a six year old girl. I can’t get enough of them! I’m particularly loving this cheetah print bow headband from Anthropologie. The print is so pretty and perfect the current animal print trend. Additionally, the fabric is super silky soft and best of all this headband has a wire inside. I love these types of headbands because you can shape the wire inside the bow anyway you want and really adjust it to wear your headband just the way you like it. I love feminine pieces with with a bit of edge and this headband is exactly that. I feel like I can’t pull off a fluffy pink headband but this leopard print headband is perfect for feminine girls that like a bit of edge. This piece is currently 20% off right now which makes it $14!
My jeans are sold out but I linked a similar pair by the same (and my favorite) brand ever. They’re from Nordstrom and they’re currently doing 2x points on all purchases through May 12th. Nordstrom credit card holders earn 6x points! I just ordered myself some more of these Good American jeans because they have THE BEST fit! See my previous post about their fit here and see two other ways I styled these Good American jeans here and here.
I had of lot’s questions about the details of this outfit when I posted it on Instagram last week and I’ve been dying to share it. This wrap top has the prettiest eyelet trim detail all around the neckline and sleeve. I bought it specifically to shoot a sponsored campaign, which by the way you should check out on my Instagram because we’re doing something awesome to help those in need. I needed a lightweight top that is easy to take care of but with lots of pretty detail so I went with this wrap blouse from Anthropologie. I think it was like, 114 degrees the day we shot this and we were outside for quite some time so naturally, the blouse got soaked in my sweat and wrinkled. So glamorous, right? Lol. Anyway, it doesn’t normally wrinkle that easily, it’s super pretty, and perfect for summer—such a good find!
I’m also obsessed with these little kerchief scarves from Anthropologie. They’re made of cotton (they have silk too but let’s keep our style cruelty-free) and they’re perfect for wrapping up your hair or around your purse like I typically do. Ok, last style obsession for today, these sunglasses. They’re sold out BUT, I linked two very similar pairs from the same designer. Which pair do you like best? I have to go with the gold-rimmed pair, the gold glimmers so beautifully in the sun! I’ve been wearing these non-stop because they go with everything and I love the oversized look!
ICYMI everything I wear and all the products I use are now and always will be vegan.
By the way, I linked some cute bow espadrille shoes that are similar to the ones I’m wearing and the linked options are made of vegan leather. In case you don’t watch my Instagram stories, I decided a while back to eliminate all animal products from my life. This includes shoes, handbags, and accessories that are made with animal products. So now everything I link is 100% vegan and cruelty-free! If you’re curious as to why I went vegan, there’s a post about it and you can read it here.
Ok you guys, today I have a special guest for you all.
Miss Athena Esmeralda joined me for the sponsored shoot we shot right before these pics. She wasn’t supposed to be in these outfits pics but she kept walking over to me, standing right in front of me staring, then asking me to pick her up. Lol, it was so cute. Her nanny Taryn, kept trying to entertain her to get her out of the shot but she just wanted mommy. So I thought I’d include some behind the scenes with Athena today. 🙂 I can’t handle that cute little face!!!
I LOVE the fourth of July. Watching fireworks on a summer night with friends and family, what’s not to like? I also love playing with the day’s color scheme. If you’re not careful, it can be easy to look like Fourth of July threw up on you. I could have opted for red shoes but I chose to keep the red subtle in this outfit so as not to go overboard. So I added red lipstick, red trimmed sunglasses, and a red scarf. BTW, how cute is this animal print scarf? Love it! I absolutely love this embroidered stars top too, it’s not only perfect for Fourth of July but for all summer! The extra wide, oversized sleeves are dreamy! It also comes with a cami underneath since the top is crocheted. This is definitely an outfit I’ll be wearing many times this summer.
Happy first day of winter! Wearing a black on black on black outfit today. What’s better than a cozy knit sweater and leggings on a freezing winter day? I got this top from Anthropologie a while back and I’ve been wearing it nonstop. I absolutely love the fringed hem!
Fall is in full swing now here in Las Vegas and I’m all about these over the knee boots. I’ve been wearing them with everything. These particular boots are by Via Spiga. They have a suede-like hand feel and are very stretchy. I’m also a fan of Stuart Weitzman’s 5050 boot which very closely resembles this Via Spiga pair in both look and fit. Finding boots that fit my calves is nearly impossible so if you have this problem too, either one of these will work really well for you.
Yesterday on Instagram I mentioned an announcement. I’m so excited to share with you guys that I’ll be launching a small clothing line on Etsy this fall! That’s the main reason behind my lack of posts these past 2 months. I’ve been designing, sourcing, and creating everything myself. It hasn’t been easy but it’s been a lot of fun and I can’t wait to share it when it goes live later this month. You can expect cool, casual, chic, and comfortable pieces (think Vince and James Perse with a touch of Donna Karan) in subtle tones for this first collection. Stay tuned 🙂
This particular day started at 5:00 am. It was dark when we set out to find a good spot in the desert to shoot this. A cool breeze was blowing and we got to see the sun rise, I love starting the day out like this. It’s this beautiful desert landscape that was the inspiration for this outfit; I drew inspiration from my Mexican background and came up with this outfit.
This dress is a thrift store find (similar here, here, and here ), the cardigan is from Anthropolgie (similar here), shoes are BCBGeneration (similar here), necklace is from Forever21, bangle is from a boutique in Hawaii, and the orchid bracelet was a gift.
Two summer must haves for me are James Perse dresses and light-weight bohemian scarves. If you’re not already familiar with James Perse’s dresses you must check them out. They are super soft, comfortable, and quite versatile. These dresses look equally chic with sandals or a pair of heels. The lightweight fabric makes them great for travel. I’ve managed to pack a 5 days worth of outfits in the purse I’m carrying by using these dresses as the core of my outfits. They’re simply wonderful investment pieces that you can use all year around.
With summer upon us I want to share a few of my favorite things. This list will grow throughout summer but I had to start with these amazing and delightfully aromatic bath bombs. All of these items are from Lush. If you’re not familiar with Lush, run, don’t walk to a store near you if there is one. What am I saying, you can’t run in those heels, so just click here instead to check out the website.
Since the first time I walked into Lush, I knew it was going to be life-changing. Before you even walk into the store you’re sense of smell is delightfully caressed with notes of jasmine, rose and citrus. Then you walk in and it’s so aesthetically pleasing. There are bath bombs, which is what they are primarily known for, but there’s so much more, like huge blocks of soap which are cut into chunks on the spot and priced by weight.
There are beauty products like mascara and lip pigments. Their concealer is a must! Just trust me; we’ll cover that another time when I can write you a 20 page essay about it. For now let’s talk more about these bath bombs. Pictured above are my favorites that I am never without. I’ve tried every bath bomb at least once but these are my essential favorites. Bath bombs from top to bottom are: Space Girl, Fizzbanger, Sex Bomb, Twilight, and Blackberry. The rectangular bar is a bubble bar in Creamy Candy, it’s smells amazing, you’ll want to take a bite out it but please don’t.
Now for the containers. The Lemony Flutter is a cuticle cream. It’s thick and very moisturizing. It’s lemony scent is invigorating without overwhelming the senses. Although it’s made for the cuticles it can be used as a general hand cream. I love it for summertime because the heat can really dry out your skin and the scent is so refreshing on a hot day. Last is the Dream Cream, this body cream has tons of natural ingredients for soothing troubled skin. It’s hydrating without being really greasy. I’ve used it as face moisturizer on occasion and it sits well under makeup.
I bring you the windows of the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. It’s that time of year when the window displays get extra pretty! Marc by Marc Jacobs always has a unique window display. This month it seems to be a Las Vegas homage with snow and the Statue of Liberty is there too.
I couldn’t resist going into Anthropologie after seeing their display, it’s so inviting.
Anthro has some of my favorite housewares. They always have fun furniture, interesting dinnerware and beautiful, delicate glassware. I found some great gifting items you can bring your host if you’re attending a party. A whole honeycomb is not only beautiful, it’s delicious and great for sharing! This set of celestial coasters adds a hint of shimmer to a table setting without being excessive. Last, but by far not least, are the Jacinta holiday candles. I can’t think of one person who wouldn’t like to be gifted one of these candles. Each design has its own invigorating scent and can be used as decor when not lit.
