Feeling so casual, cozy, and chic in this look. This sweater is seriously my favorite, it’s such a versatile piece. I styled it with leopard print pumps and a midi skirt in the last post, which you can see here. I also styled it in a gray monochrome look, which you can see here. Lastly, I also paired this same sweater with my favorite ripped jeans and canvas espadrille platforms for a super easy and casual look, which you can see on my Instagram here. If you’re looking for a super cozy, warm yet lightweight sweater, that’s also wool-free, look no further. This is the one you need, just click that link above and get cozy already!
Marc always jokes, “where did you go?!” as he gazes right past me whenever I show up wearing camouflage print. I roll my eyes, and he laughs at his joke. I have to confess; I have an obsession with camouflage print. #sorrynotsorry I mean, it’s just so easy to wear and such a versatile print for being so distinct. I wish you could see this shirt up close, it’s made of 2 lightweight breathable layers. It’s one of those transitional pieces that can be worn all year long because the material is light enough for spring/summer but thick enough for layering during fall and winter. This top is a great piece to wear open over a dress and booties during summertime.
I FINALLY found a fantastic pair of true black jeans that don’t fade and have the perfect amount of stretch! Ugh, I’ve been searching for so long. It’s tough to explain how big of a deal these jeans are so let me share a list of everything I was looking for in a single pair of jeans.
Jeanette’s black jeans list of requirements:
perfect amount of stretch
good fit through the hips, thighs & calves
front pockets (a lot of black jeans have faux pockets)
must be actual jeans (not denim leggings)
snug fitting waist (no gap, when I sit)
ample room in the back (aka doesn’t squish my butt)
won’t fade after the first wash (or after the 20th)
won’t stretch out after an hour of wear
I think you can agree, that’s a long list. These hit every mark, and I’m obsessed! If you’re new to the Good American brand, make sure to size down at least one size (possibly 2), they run big.
Lastly, I have to mention my accessories really quick. I get so many compliments on these crawler earrings and so many questions on these sunglasses. I linked both exact pairs. The earrings are my go-to pair; they go with everything. They look very high end but are only $40 and plated in 18k gold. These Quay sunglasses are also a go-to; I wear them literally every single day. The squared oversized look pairs well with dressier, glam looks but the thin, matte frame makes them perfect for casual, everyday wear. My purse is a Chanel dupe and is made of vegan leather. It’s only $21! I linked this exact one and a few other similar ones up above.
This is one of the other looks we shot while we were in L.A. a few weeks ago. This kimono is now on sale for 50% off! Fun fact about this shoot, we got kicked out of this location. Lol. The guard that walks the premises told us that the owner of that development sent him down to tell us we had to leave and that we’d have to pay for permission to shoot there. He also said, and I quote, “People usually pay millions or billions to shoot here.” Lol. Um, yeah ok. Kristina and I just nodded then politely left. So there’s a little-known blogger secret for ya’ll, sometimes you do in fact need to request permission in advance to shoot in some locations, sometimes you have to pay (though never millions, unless you’re shooting a major motions picture or something), and sometimes its free and you can shoot wherever you like. But this guard was so funny. He was serious about those figures too, lol.
We’ve had some kooky weather here in Las Vegas this past month. It’s mostly been warm with a few super cold days sprinkled in. We shot this look on one of those cold days when the temperature fell below 75. Last time I shared this dress, it was a warm weather look and here it is again completely restyled for cool weather. My boots are from last year but they’re back this year! I love them because they stretch and stay up really well (they also come in brown). Also, these over the knee boots are perfect for wide calves.
On another note, tomorrow is Halloween! Wow, the year has really flown by! Athena is almost 8 months old. I can’t believe she’s already going to experience her first Halloween. Seeing her in that chicken costume almost made me tear up. But looking at her adorable little face in that costume made me realize how quickly she’s growing up and that I need to treasure every single day with her. We did two costumes this year because we couldn’t decide on just one. In case you missed it, Athena and I dressed up as black cats in my last post. We haven’t decided which costumes we’ll use for tomorrow’s festivities but one thing is for sure, you’ll see it on my Instagram, lol. Have a safe and happy Halloween, everyone!
On the first day the temperature hit below 80, I immediately pulled out my boots and cardigans. We’ve been getting a few cold days here and there but its still mainly in the high 80’s here in Las Vegas. I don’t care though, I’m going to wear my boots, cardigans, and all my other fall pieces now even if it means sitting in my living room blasting the A/C. O
On another note, how nice is this double strap, gray satchel? It’s a Givenchy antigona dupe! It comes with a detachable cross body strap, just like the Givenchy version, except this one is made of vegan leather. Since switching to a vegan diet, I’ve also started switching all my shoes, handbags, and accessories to cruelty-free versions. I especially love finding vegan versions of popular designer handbags. If you know of any, leave your suggestions in the comments below. 🙂
Are you guys not crushing on this red suede saddle purse, or what? It’s the bag you never knew you needed, am I right? Ever since Chloe’s “Marcie” bag debuted I’ve been obsessing over saddle-style purses. The rounded bottom and structured style lands this purse right on the casual chic line for me. It’s clean and structured but can easily be paired with a casual outfit, as demonstrated above. Also, doesn’t it look expensive?! It’s totally not. It’s from ASOS and priced below $50! It’s been on sale for a bit now, so hurry and get yours while they last!
Rainy days are sprinkled throughout the forecast for this entire next week here in Las Vegas starting today. I’m so excited because I love the rain and because I get to breakout my Hunter rain boots! I’d never been one for rain boots but the snow in Utah this past Christmas had me searching for a pair. Previous visits to Utah during snow season left me with vivid memories of slipping and sliding around on icy streets- not good. Not to mention several pairs of ruined shoes. So this year, I just had to find a pair of snow/rain boots. This however, would not be an easy feat since I have very wide calves and practically nothing fits me above mid-shin.
After looking through several brands and reading LOTS of reviews, I knew I had to go with Hunter boots. They are extremely well-made, come in a variety of colors and styles, and are very stylish. At first I bought a pair of the Original High Gloss, they were an ok fit but I didn’t have any room for socks. Next, I decided to try the Adjustable Back Gloss style and I love them. They have an adjustable strap on the back which give you tons of room in the calf area and plenty of space for thick socks. I paired them with some of Hunter’s Original Tall Fleece Welly Socks; they were warm and just perfect with the boots. Now I’m waiting on a third pair to arrive, the Huntress Boot. It’s like the Original Tall Boot but it has a full-cut shaft, which is a straight cut that makes it fuller at the ankle. The whole boot looks wider from top to bottom.
I ran around in the rain all day yesterday and today in my rain boots and didn’t slip even once. These boots are the real deal and it doesn’t hurt that they are stylish and comfortable 😉
These black cross strap cut out ankle boots by BCBGMAXAZRIA are perfection. Ankle boots or ankle booties, whatever you call them, in my opinion, are a closet staple. There are so many ways to wear them. Today I’m wearing mine with black coated skinny jeans. I love a great black pointed-toe boot. When paired with black pants, this style of boots will help elongate the legs and make you appear taller and slimmer.

Personally, I’ve never owned a cutout ankle boot before, I’d always opt for a regular black leather ankle bootie. However, this time around, I haven’t been able to find ankle boots that I like so I broadened my search and found these beauties. The cross strap and cut out design make them stand out and give them an edgy vibe. From the front, they appear to fully cover the foot which makes them great for pairing with pants. Conversely, the cut out sides give them the appearance of pumps, making them easy to pair with dresses and skirts. It’s a wonderfully versatile boot.
How to style ankle boots
Ankle boots can sometimes make the legs appear shorter. Sometimes you have to be careful how you style them based on your height and silhouette. Next week’s outfit post will feature these same boots paired with a skirt, and with a dress. I’ll be talking about proportions, dressing for your body type, sharing some tips on how to style ankle boots with anything, so stay tuned for that! If you like these boots, make sure to check them out and buy them asap! I got them a while back and they’ve already sold out in all department stores. Click the links below to shop.
Knitted pieces are comfy, cozy and a must have for winter. However, I can’t help but think of a lumpy over-sized sweater every time I hear the word “knit”. For this reason I went out seeking beautifully knit pieces in flattering silhouettes that are easy to wear. Zara knit dress, Steve Madden suede thigh-high boots, Forever 21 rings and Lucky Brand bunny necklace on sale here.
My dear friend Caitlan was kind enough to model here. Isn’t she gorgeous?!
