I love a good leopard print piece. While my beret has been sold out, I linked two other similar options that are also cruelty-free and wool-free. I love styling berets because they’re such fun pieces and it takes me back to my time in France. This is really such an easy piece to wear; the main thing you need to remember about styling a beret is wearing it with confidence. Actually, that’s the trick to wearing most things, really.
Think about when you see a model strutting down the runway in her stilettos, her hair whisked back by the force of her body confidently cutting through the air. She looks cool, confident, and pretty much fearless. Now think about a girl wobbling in her heels as she walks down the street, uncertain whether or not she’ll make it to the next step or fall flat on her face. I’ve seen a lot of the former here in Las Vegas on the strip late at night as girls try their best to keep going in their heels even though they’re clearly in pain. I digress, but if that’s ever been you, girl, take your heels off and walk tall.
Did you know a lot of those models on the runway often wear shoes that are a size or two too small for their feet? Yep. Yet, they still walk with such unbelievable confidence because that’s what sells the look. So, next time you’re unsure about how to wear something just remember to wear it with confidence and be your stylish little self.
I can’t end this post without mentioning this chain link satchel. It’s made of faux leather and it’s the most gorgeous shade of cognac. I’ve been showing it on my Instagram feed and stories and so many of you saved it and some of you even purchased it, yay! It comes in three colors and it’s a really versatile piece. Also, the quality of this vegan leather is amazing. Both the top handle and the cross body strap are detachable. I love the hardware on it too, it’s got such a good weight to it so it feels more high-end than it’s $50 price point. It comes in three colors: cognac, black, and bone.
Hats can really pull a look together and make it look complete. However, they can be intimidating to wear. Knowing which hat styles work best for you is a big part of wearing a hat well. Fit is also key in making sure your hat compliments you; an ill fitting hat can detract from your look.
Today, let’s talk about one hat style that anyone can wear. I’m talking about rancher hats. This style compliments any face shape and is available in various brim sizes. If you’re new to hats and aren’t sure how to wear a rancher hat, stick with a medium brim. A wider brim rancher hat may end up wearing you and a smaller brim can look more like a fedora and will make your look too hipster.
Rancher hats are typically made of wool which limits its wearability to only fall and winter. You can get more use out of your hat by opting for one made of a cotton/polyester blend, like this one. Wool hats are warmer but the cotton/polyester blend still keep in quite a good amount of heat but also breath better during the warmer seasons allowing you to get more use out of your hat.
Now, let’s talk about how to style a rancher hat. If you’re not sure how to style your hat, play it safe. For this look I went with an all black outfit and use my coat and accesories to add more dimension to my look. The color of my hat ties into the tone of my coat and purse, pulling the whole look together and drawing the eye upwards, thus giving me a taller, leaner look.
The neutral tone of this hat pairs well with the tone of my faux-shearling winter coat and because of it’s lightweight, woven material, it will pair equally as nicely with a maxi dress and sandals in the spring or summer. As for fit, the inner band should fit snug around your head but not tight. If you can’t tell whether your hat is just snug or tight, try the one finger trick. You should be able to fit one finger comfortably between your head and the band.
I also wore this hat as part of a more monochrome look, click here to take a look.
Did you know there are tons of vegan leather handbags available from mainstream designers? My tote bag is from Steve Madden! This one is sold out but I linked a similar one. I’m so happy to see so many vegan fashion brands popping up all over the world. However, they’re still a bit difficult to find, especially if you don’t know where to look. I’m going to be introducing a whole lot of these brands here soon but in the meantime, you can find lots of vegan handbags and faux leather shoes from brands like Steve Madden and Forever 21. Even Topshop has cute vegan pieces. My sweater looks like it’s wool and it’s super warm but it’s 100% wool-free, which means it’s also cruelty-free, yay! Let me know in the comments what vegan and cruelty-free pieces you’d like to see and I’ll add them to my list to share soon. Also, make sure to sign up for my newsletter for updates on fresh new vegan fashion brands and giveaways!
This off the shoulder blouse trend has been around for a while and it’s still going strong. I found this top at H&M and it was too cute to pass on. Apparently, everyone else thought so too because it already sold out. But I did link two very similar ones. This off the shoulder blouse has summer written all over it. It’s lightweight, casual, and effortlessly chic. Wear it with jeans or tucked into a skirt, either look is perfect for summer. Also, I have to talk about this hat again. It’s the perfect summer accessory and it’ll keep the sun off your face—so practical! And it’s under $20!
I’ve been searching for the perfect denim jacket forever and I finally found it! The best part, it’s under $40! Woot! It has a little bit of stretch, which I love and need (chubby arms, lol). I’ve been wearing it so much and I love how versatile it is! It’s super comfortable too and the material is perfect. It’s a soft and breathable cotton with a good weight to it— love it! If you follow me on Instagram, take a peek at my Instastories, throughout the week I’ll be sharing different ways to wear it. Happy Humpday everyone!
I recently discovered a local store here in Henderson that carries THE CUTEST baby items. If you’re expecting or looking for a gift for someone that is, you have to check this place out. There’s so much to choose from! If you’re local, go in person and if you’re not, don’t worry, they ship! Thank you to my friend Lexi for telling me about this place. 🙂
I’m going to be honest with you, some of these items are not super necessary to have for your baby but they are super cute. I would have loved to receive any of these as gifts and actually, I did! I have 2 sets of the Little Unicorn peony swaddles. I bought one early on and was given another set from my baby registry. Little Unicorn muslin swaddles are the best! No really, I must have tested about a dozen brands of swaddles are these are so incredibly soft- especially the deluxe ones! They’re also huge, measuring 47 x 47 inches, and the colors and prints are adorable- I’m seriously obsessed!
Little Unicorn swaddle blankets come in 3 fabrics: cotton muslin, deluxe muslin, and organic cotton muslin. Both the cotton muslin and the organic cotton muslin are soft, lightweight, and breathable. The deluxe muslin blankets are made of bamboo rayon and are SUPER soft.
I love, love, love Little Unicorn prints. This watercolor rose print is one of my favorites so I had to get this hooded towel and washcloth set in the same print as the swaddles.
Another brand I’m newly obsessed with is Jellycat. They make the cutest, softest, stuffed animals! The one one the left is a baby rattle.
Little Giraffe socks are sooo soft and luxurious. These are made of polyester but they feel like cashmere. They look very delicate but they’re not. I machine-washed them and they are still super soft and didn’t shrink.
How adorable is this Baby Bling headband? The cable knit pattern is so cute. This headband is made of super soft nylon and comes in various colors.
One thing you’ll definitely be needing for your infant are mittens. Babies are constantly accidentally scratching their little faces. So to keep them from looking like they’re in a fight club, I highly recommend these mittens by Goumi Mitts. Unlike traditional mittens with the elastic wrists, these have velcro straps to help keep them on securely. The elastic mittens are definitely less expensive but they are also very easy for baby to take off. You’ll end up losing about half of them and your baby will end up scratching his/her face. Another thing I love about Goumi Mitts is that they don’t leave marks on the baby’s wrists like the elastic mittens do.
This sling is one of the reasons we first visited Love Bug. Bundle was having an in-store demo on baby-wearing and I was really interested in slings after researching a bunch of different ones. I love how practical this particular one is. It’s easy to put on and take off and can be adjusted with one hand, allowing you to hold baby with the other. It holds baby securely and they are snug as a bug in there. Lexi switched from a popular baby sling wrap to this one because of how versatile and easy to use it is. These slings are handmade from 100% linen. When choosing a sling, it’s really important to consider fabric content. Linen is the best choice for this type of item because it provides optimum breathability and wicks away moisture. These features are what make linen such a popular fabric among the world’s warmest countries. I also love all of the natural colors it comes in. We purchased this blush color as well as the copper color.
When I started my initial research into pacifiers I was instantly drawn to WubbaNub. I looked into various brands but decided to go with these for a few reasons. WubbaNub pacifiers are made of medical-grade silicone (latex-free!). They are the invention of a mom who was tired of losing her baby’s pacifiers. While on vacation, using a hotel sewing kit, she decided to sew a small stuffed animal to her son’s pacifier to keep him from losing it. And just like that, WubbaNub was born! These pacifiers come in many designs and are machine washable. I washed these in a mesh laundry bag on the delicate cycle then laid them flat to dry.
Aden + Anais is a favorite brand among moms everywhere. Between their soft fabrics and adorable prints it’s easy to see why. We didn’t plan on buying any baby clothes during this trip to Love Bug but this print was just too cute to pass up.
Although Marc and I primarily speak English, my first language is Spanish and Marc’s is sign language. So it’s definitely a priority to teach the baby both of these along with English. That’s why we immediately gravitated towards these Mudpuppy Spanish to English flash cards. I love that they come with a ring for easy travel and the colors and illustrations are really cute.
Last but not least, I have to tell you about these Kickee Pants onesies. If you haven’t noticed already, the recurring theme today is super soft things, lol. I discovered Kickee Pants at Love Bug. My friend Lexi told me about them. They are made from spandex and bamboo viscose which makes them soooooo soft and stretchy! I’m not going to lie, I’m totally wishing I could get these in adult sizes. Lol. Besides the fabric being to-die-for, two other favorite features are the fold over mittens on the sleeves and the rubberized spots on the bottom of the feet.
I’d been looking for onesies with the fold over mittens and was surprised to discover that they are not too easy to find. I’m not sure why that is. It’s a great feature to have because, like I previously mentioned, babies are constantly scratching their faces. The rubberized spots on the bottom of the feet are fantastic for babies in the crawling, walking, running stages; it’s a nice little extra safety feature.

After my experiences shopping locally with LoveBug, I can no longer recommend shopping with them. I will only support brands that care about their customers and have a high standard business practices.
