If you haven’t already heard, animal prints are going to be a BIG trend for Spring 2019. We’ve already seen a lot of animal print, mostly leopard, carrying over from fall of 2018 but it’s going to be even bigger and better come spring. I absolutely love animal prints so I can’t wait to really get crazy with it come spring. My leopard coat sold out during Norstrom’s anniversary sale last July but I linked a couple similar ones above.

The Perfect Chunky Knit Sweater for Fall

Dress (also here) | Cardigan | Shoes | Bag | Shapewear

Hey guys, if you recall I shared this cardigan in my Instagram stories last week and said I’d be sharing it as an outfit soon. Well, here it is. I present to you THE BEST cardigan for fall. This is one of the outfits we shot in Pasadena this past week. By the way, can I just say how much I love Pasadena? The weather was a perfect 86 degrees and as the sun went down, we were greeted by a light cool breeze. The city is so picturesque and two of my favorite things are that it’s the home of the Huntington Library and it also offers a wide variety of vegan dining options— one of my faves is Real Food Daily (yelp them!).

Ok, now let me tell ya about this cardi. This chunky knit oversized cardigan is super soft, cozy, and best of all, it’s wool-free! I can not tell you how hard it is to find chunky knit cardigans for fall and winter. It seems like 90% of all cardigans manufactured are made with wool or other animal materials. For as long as I could remember, I’ve been allergic to wool. I had always loved chunky knit oversized cardigans made of wool. They looked so warm and cozy but I wouldn’t even dare try them on because the times I did, my skin would become so irritated. It wasn’t until I worked at James Perse that I found out I wasn’t allergic to cashmere, so I started buying that. Then last year, I went vegan and slowly started eliminated all animal products from my wardrobe, including all my cashmere pieces. So now when I find a really well made, chunky knit cardigan that’s not made of wool or animal materials, I immediately jump on it. This is one of those pieces. The material is a little heavy, but not in a bad way, it has the perfect weight to it. I love the oversized fit and it has pockets! It also has beautiful movement and pairs equally as well with jeans and a tee. If you buy one cardigan this fall, I would suggest investing in this piece! I’m OBSESSED with it!

Animal patterns are a big trend for fall. But that’s not the reason I got this dress. To be honest, I didn’t even notice it had an animal pattern until the second time I wore it (I’m detail-oriented like that), lol. No, I got this dress because I fell in love with the shape! The cinching at the waist is super flattering, giving the illusion of a smaller waist. I also love how swingy the material is. The pattern is right on trend but it’s not an overbearing print. Also, the color is in the burgundy spectrum, which, again is right on trend for this season. I can’t wait to style it with boots! It’s so comfy and I also love the little tassel detail. It just went on sale so grab one before they sell out!

Calvin Klein Lace Up Sandals

It’s been nearly 7 weeks since my baby was born. At times, it feels like it’s been much longer but conversely, time seems to be flying by. My wardrobe didn’t really change after birth, I’m still living in James Perse dresses. I got these Calvin Klein sandals a few months ago, I had completely forgotten about them. They’re now on sale for under $50! Diaper changing, spit up wiping, and baby’s laundry tend to eclipse the day, leaving little to no time for putting together outfits. I have several other items I’m really excited to shoot (if I ever find the time, lol).

Military Jacket & Rockstud Pumps

I wanted  to do an outfit post with these shoes as soon as I got them. You’d think I’d be sick of seeing them since it seems like everyone and their mother owns a pair, or two five. Well, there’s a reason why Valentino’s Rockstud pumps have stuck around for so long, they’re awesome. They go with practically everything and are possibly the easiest way to give an outfit a little edge without going overboard. They’re also comfortable. I opted for the higher heel (4 inches, they also come in 2.5 inches), however, they feel much lower than 4 inches.

Kimono Coat

I’m kind of obsessed with this linen kimono coat. I love the drapey effect that the woven linen creates. I’d been searching for a soft trench coat when I stumbled across this Tibi coat and immediately knew it would be mine. The material looked very light weight when I was looking at it online but when I received it, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it’s a heavy weight linen. It’s the perfect transitional piece for going from fall to winter since it can still be layered under an overcoat.

Free People Black Maxi Dress

Can you believe how quickly this month has flown by?! I’ve been so busy working on a cookbook that I haven’t had much time for anything else. Autumn is quickly creeping up on us and I’m so happy for long maxi dresses like this one by Free People. It’s such a transitional piece, perfect for moving from summer to fall. This particular maxi dress style is SO hard to find. I was extremely bummed when I went to order it online only to realize it was sold out in my size. A few weeks later I go into Nordstrom’s for some retail therapy and lo and behold, there is the dress, in my size, and on sale. It was meant to be.

This leather purse is perfect for toting around everyday. The side pockets are ideal for keeping your cell phone and keys easily accessible, and the color goes with just about everything. Saffiano leather has a crosshatch pattern that makes is easy to identify. This type of leather is easy to clean, most liquids just glide right off. I’m loving this new tote, it’s pairs very well with a casual look and equally with a sophisticated one.

GROMMET-15 GROMMET-3 GROMMET-14 GROMMET-4 GROMMET-5 GROMMET-9A black pencil skirt is one of the most useful buys you’ll ever make. Personally, I like pencil skirts that hit below the knee and have a bit of stretch to them. A small amount of stretch that allows the material to hug your body but doesn’t appear shiny, is perfect. This one from H&M has 5% elastane. It was quite inexpensive and I use it so frequently I’m surprised it’s lasted this long. I love the way this skirt works with these grommet sandals. They just came in the mail a couple days ago and they’re my new favorite shoes! I bought these as soon as I saw them because they reminded me of some Guiseppe Zanotti sandals I saw a little while back. The GZ ones are just a bit different but equally as gorgeous and they’re on sale now!

SW-hubcaps-wedge-2I’m so lucky when it comes to shopping, I always find the best items and usually at a great price. Some call it a talent, some call it a supernatural gift, and by “some” I mean me. My point is I found these Stuart Weitzman HUBCAPSBULLETS wedges in store at Nordstrom rack for 50% off a while back. And now they’re available online at Stuart Weitzman for 50% off! It took me a while to find a pair of espadrille wedges that I really liked. I had actually seen these online only to find them in store three days later. I was lucky that the only pair they had was my size and they just happened to be half off, it was a no-brainer. Summer has a way of making metallics easily function as neutrals so I’ve worn these wedges with just about everything.
