Midi Skirt & Leopard Print Look + The Trick to Wearing Anything & Everything Well

Sweater: Topshop (similar here) | Skirt: James Perse | Shoes: Miss Lola (similar here)

Bag: DSW | Beret: Charlotte Russe (similar here & here)

I love a good leopard print piece. While my beret has been sold out, I linked two other similar options that are also cruelty-free and wool-free. I love styling berets because they’re such fun pieces and it takes me back to my time in France. This is really such an easy piece to wear; the main thing you need to remember about styling a beret is wearing it with confidence. Actually, that’s the trick to wearing most things, really.

Think about when you see a model strutting down the runway in her stilettos, her hair whisked back by the force of her body confidently cutting through the air. She looks cool, confident, and pretty much fearless. Now think about a girl wobbling in her heels as she walks down the street, uncertain whether or not she’ll make it to the next step or fall flat on her face. I’ve seen a lot of the former here in Las Vegas on the strip late at night as girls try their best to keep going in their heels even though they’re clearly in pain. I digress, but if that’s ever been you, girl, take your heels off and walk tall.

Did you know a lot of those models on the runway often wear shoes that are a size or two too small for their feet? Yep. Yet, they still walk with such unbelievable confidence because that’s what sells the look. So, next time you’re unsure about how to wear something just remember to wear it with confidence and be your stylish little self.

I can’t end this post without mentioning this chain link satchel. It’s made of faux leather and it’s the most gorgeous shade of cognac. I’ve been showing it on my Instagram feed and stories and so many of you saved it and some of you even purchased it, yay! It comes in three colors and it’s a really versatile piece. Also, the quality of this vegan leather is amazing.  Both the top handle and the cross body strap are detachable. I love the hardware on it too, it’s got such a good weight to it so it feels more high-end than it’s $50 price point. It comes in three colors: cognac, black, and bone.

Midi Skirt and Crop Top Look | Makeup Giveaway Winner Announced

Top: Forever 21 | Jacket: H&M (from last year, similar here and here) | Skirt: James Perse | Shoes: Target (old, similar here and here) | Purse: Forever 21

I totally cheated at wearing this crop top, lol. This is how to wear a crop tops without baring your midsection. I love a crop top paired with a midi skirt. The trick to not baring your midsection is choosing a high-waisted skirt or even high waisted jeans. This knit top is so soft, lightweight, and the fabric has a nice swing to it. It feels luxe but it was under $10 from Forever21! I’m also loving this woven straw purse. It’s so cute and perfect for spring/summer outfits. I swear it goes with everything and its faux leather so it’s cruelty free! I’ve been wearing it non stop. It looks small but it can hold quite a bit.

Thank you all who entered my makeup giveaway! I wish you all could win! I will be doing more giveaways so stay tuned for that. MIDI-SKIRT-2 MIDI-SKIRT-3 MIDI-SKIRT-7 MIDI-SKIRT-8 MIDI-SKIRT-1Pencil skirts are a wardrobe essential. There is so much you can do with them. Until recently, I’d been using my H & M pencil skirt which I’ve shot many times here, here, here, here and here. I love that skirt, it was so inexpensive and very comfy. It’s now too faded to wear with silk blouses and other elevated elements so I only wear it with nude ballet flats and comfy tops. It surprises me how much use I got out of it give the low price point. However, now that it’s faded I had to look for a new midi pencil skirt. This time I searched for a material that won’t easily fade so I went with a rayon/nylon blend fabric. I also wanted something really soft, with a bit of stretch, and no waistband. I found this gorgeous Vince Camuto skirt and I’m super happy with it. It’s ridiculously soft and very comfortable.

Another new find, is the red lip gloss I’m wearing. I don’t really wear lip gloss often but an updo really calls for glossy lips so I put on the new Chanel lip gloss in “Pirate”. This gloss is rich in vitamin E which really hydrates the lips, and the color is stunning! Also wearing Nars velvet lip liner in “Nihiwatu”.

GROMMET-15 GROMMET-3 GROMMET-14 GROMMET-4 GROMMET-5 GROMMET-9A black pencil skirt is one of the most useful buys you’ll ever make. Personally, I like pencil skirts that hit below the knee and have a bit of stretch to them. A small amount of stretch that allows the material to hug your body but doesn’t appear shiny, is perfect. This one from H&M has 5% elastane. It was quite inexpensive and I use it so frequently I’m surprised it’s lasted this long. I love the way this skirt works with these grommet sandals. They just came in the mail a couple days ago and they’re my new favorite shoes! I bought these as soon as I saw them because they reminded me of some Guiseppe Zanotti sandals I saw a little while back. The GZ ones are just a bit different but equally as gorgeous and they’re on sale now!

tory-burch-6You may recall I purchased these Tory Burch “Lolita” pumps a little while back. I finally got around to styling them. They are so comfortable despite having a 4 inch heel. Anytime I see an even remotely vampy-looking shoe I think it will be uncomfortable, but I’ve noticed that is not the case with Tory Burch shoes. What can I say, they’re just so well made.

It’s officially June! This means two things: summer is just a few weeks away, and the heat is coming! Tie dye prints and summer go hand in hand. I love tie dye maxi dresses and flowy, bohemian tie dye tops. However, it’s hard to not look like a hippie when wearing tie dye.  I bought this tie dye pencil skirt from James Perse a little while back because I just thought it was cool. It’s been sitting in my closet because I wasn’t quite sure how to style it. I felt like the tie dye pattern was really fun but because of the pencil shape I was at a standstill. How should I style an oh-so-soft, relaxed print with a dressier silhouette? I’m quite pleased with the result.

I feel like I’m on a mission when I’m out looking for the perfect black pumps. After days, weeks or even months when I do find the right ones, it’s like I’ve discovered the holy grail. The best part is these aren’t ridiculously expensive. I must warn you though, before you go looking for them, they also come in red, nude and a few other colors. Hold on to your pocketbook!
